Hormone OS FAQ
What is Hormone OS?
Hormone OS is an iPhone app for women in perimenopause and menopause, or who suspect something is changing. It reads the health signals you may already be collecting, adds a 60-second daily voice check-in, and shows you a weekly plain-English report of the patterns across both.
Does Hormone OS work with Apple Health?
Yes. Hormone OS reads the health signals Apple Health already holds, such as sleep, heart rate, cycle and temperature. They can come from your iPhone, a watch or other wearables you use, and they are looked at together instead of one chart at a time.
What is the daily check-in?
Sixty seconds, spoken. You say how you slept, how you feel, what stood out. It is there because a lot of what matters is not in a sensor: mood, brain fog, aches, a bad day.
What is in the weekly report?
A plain-English summary of patterns across your own data and check-ins, and questions that may be worth bringing to your doctor.
Is Hormone OS a medical or diagnosis tool?
No. Not a diagnosis. A pattern. Hormone OS does not give medical advice or tell you what to do about a symptom. It shows you what your own data is doing so you can have a more specific conversation with a clinician.
Does it replace my doctor?
No. It is built to make an appointment more useful, not to stand in for one.
How is it different from the perimenopause feature in Apple Health?
At launch Apple described its feature as notifying people when cycle patterns are suggestive of perimenopause, with symptom logging and educational information. Hormone OS is a separate app that looks across several health signals together with a daily spoken check-in and reports weekly. You can use both. See how some apps describe themselves.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. You can register interest at hormoneos.app/android.
Who makes Hormone OS?
A small team who were tired of watching women we love and care about struggle to navigate perimenopause and menopause. See the About page.
Where can I read how my data is handled?
In the Privacy policy, linked in the site footer.
